
One of the coolest bits of the design here is that while the half of the level that you're navigating is essentially on a 2D plane, there's a second side to the level that you can travel to via tunnels and passageways. By other side I actually mean the flip side. The levels are filled with platforms that you can use as cover, vehicles that you pilot to run over your enemy and turrets that you can use to shoot foes on the other side of the level.Įxplosions+and+blood,+the+perfect+mix. The game is largely 2D in nature, with the left analog stick moving your soldier while the right aims your weapon.

While Crash Commando can be played against bots, its focus is definitely on the multiplayer aspect of the title, featuring two teams battling on dual-sided levels. Case in point: Crash Commando, a game that is as addictive and rewarding as it is simplistic.

It was already a pretty good year, but the PlayStation Network's exclusive downloadable titles are really picking up at the tail end of 2008.
